AR Car Rentals: Car Rental Platform for a Cebu Business · Matt Alexius
AR Car Rentals is a car rental platform I built for a business in Cebu, with live vehicle availability, online booking, lead capture, and SEO set up from launch.
AR Car Rentals is a full-stack car rental site for a business that serves customers in Cebu. Customers can see which vehicles are free in real time and book online. Inquiry forms capture leads, automated emails follow up on them, and the site is set up for search so people find it without ads. It's built to work well on phones.
The problem
The client ran the whole rental business through Facebook DMs and a spreadsheet. Inquiries got lost, cars got double-booked every week, and search engines couldn't find the business at all. They needed a real product on a small budget.
The approach
The frontend is React and Vite, built mobile-first. Supabase is the realtime backend, so when a car gets booked, everyone looking at the site sees it right away. Lead forms feed straight into automated email sequences. Every page ships with server-rendered metadata and structured data, so SEO was in place from the first day.
What I learned
Working for a real client taught me that "it works on my machine" isn't something you can hand over. Edge cases I'd skipped in personal projects, like timezones, flaky network connections, and validation on every input, suddenly had to be handled. I also found that a fast site converts better than a pretty one.
